How SlimmeKat.nl started
In 2021 I was looking for an automatic litter box for Snowy. I found dozens of review sites, but they all gave the same information - manufacturer specifications rewritten as opinion. No real tests, no honest story about disadvantages. I decided to do it myself.
SlimmeKat.nl was set up with a simple rule: I order and pay for every product myself, I use it for at least 4 weeks in daily life with Snowy and Nootje, and I write down what I really experience - including the disadvantages. A manufacturer never influences my judgement. That is the agreement.
Nootje joined us in 2022 as a young kitten. She is smaller than Snowy but at least as critical about new things in the house. A product that Nootje does not accept does not make my recommendation. It is that simple.

Mabel (1992) is a cat lover and owner of Snowy (5 years, large and stubborn) and Nootje (3 years, small and curious). She lives in Utrecht and started SlimmeKat.nl in 2021 after becoming frustrated by the empty online reviews. Snowy weighs 6 kg and prefers warm spots. Nootje is the critical tester - a product Nootje ignores does not make the recommendation. Every product is tested for at least 4 weeks before publication.
